Although we have nearly 200,000 books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs, they often do fly off the shelves.
If the item is currently checked out, you can place a hold on it. When it comes in, we'll personally give you a call to let you know it's ready for pick-up. But don't wait too long because we can only hold it for three days!
How to Place a Hold
To place a hold, first search for the item you'd like to check out in our catalog.
The highlighted portion below shows the "system availability." If the book is in, drop everything and come pick up the book because you can't place a hold on an item that's in.
If the item is checked out, you can place a hold on it by clicking the "Place Request" button, which is also highlighted below.
You'll be prompted to log in. After entering your library barcode that's on the back of your library card and your password that you set up when you received your card, click "Submit Request." When the item is available, we'll call you to let you know it's ready to be picked up.
